Companions of the Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam

Mas’alah 1: All those Muslims who had the fortune and privilege of seeing our Holy Prophet are called As’haab (companions) of the Holy Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam.

High qualities have been attributed to them. We should have affection and good opinion for all of them. If any differences are known among them, they should be treated as omissions and they should not be degraded on that account and none should speak ill of them.

The most exalted amongst these are four companions, that is, Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddique who succeeded the Holy Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam as his Caliph and regulated the religious affairs. He was succeeded by Hadhrat Umar Faarooq, the Second Caliph. Then Hadhrat Uthmaan Ghani, the third Caliph and Hadhrat Ali, fourth Caliph.

Mas’alah 2: The status and position of the Companion, of the Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam is so high and exalted that even a greatest Walee (saint) cannot be equal to the humblest of them.
