Ascension to Sidra-tul-Muntahaa

Thereafter, Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam says, "then I was made to ascend to Sidra-tul-Muntahaa (i.e. the Lote Tree, the utmost boundary beyond which no angel even is allowed to cross.) Its fruits were like the jars of Hajar (a place near Madinah) and its leaves were as large as the ears of elephants. Jibraa’eel alayhis salaam said, '"This is the Sidra-tul-Muntahaa." There were (also) four rivers there. Two were concealed and two were visible. I asked, "What are these two kinds of rivers?" He replied, "The hidden rivers are two rivers in Paradise. The two visible rivers are the Nile and Euphrates." Thereafter I was shown Al Bayt-ul-Ma'moor (The Sacred House). A container full of wine, another full of milk and a third full of honey were brought to me. I took the milk. Jibraa’eel alayhis salaam remarked (with regard to the symbolic significance of the preference of milk), '"This is the natural religion (Islaam) you and your Ummah are following."
