Blessed Countenance of the Holy Prophet
(sallallahu alayhi wasallam)As narrated by Tirmizi, Hadhrat Hassaan radhiyallahu anhu, the grandson of the Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam expressed his eagerness to learn about the Prophet's (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) appearance so that he could imprint his sacred features in his heart and soul.
Love is the motivation for such a yearning, because focusing on the countenance of the beloved enhances love, which is an integral part of faith. Love also motivates the believer to follow the Sunnah, and due to this obedience Allah also grants His love to this believer.
Hadhrat Anas radhiyallahu anhu narrated that: "Allah did not send any Prophet who was not good looking and good voiced. Your Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam was the best in speech and most perfect in form".
Shamaa’il-e-Tirmizi
Allaamah Munaavi rahmatullahi alayh says that all must believe that none can rival the good form of the Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam
Sheem-al-Habeeb
The
Almighty kindled the glow of his beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam from the outpouring of His Own Radiance and made the leader of all the Prophets and Messengers the meeting point of all virtues and perfection. Aside from Allah's Divinity, Oneness and Greatness, whichever attributes of perfection could be bestowed on a human being, were all put into the purest form of the Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, thus making him a manifestation of all that is virtuous and perfect in the Universe. The Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam personally commented, "I am the most pre eminent among the descendants of Adam, and this is no boast".Hadhrat Hassaan radhiyallahu anhu has addressed the following poem to the Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam:-
khuliqta mubarra'am min
kulli ayabin
kannaka qad khuliqta kamaa
tashaa'u
(Qaseedah Burdah)
"You have attained sublimity in virtues revealed or latent. The Creator of the universe has chosen you as His Beloved. No one else shares your qualities. Your beauty is unmatched, and is in fact exclusive to you".
Hadhrat Aaishah radhiyallahu anhaa said, " If Zulaykhah's friends had seen the radiant face of the Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam they would have slashed their hearts instead of their hands".

Allaamah Qurtubee rahmatullahi alayh says that Allah did not fully expose the beauty of the Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, otherwise none would have been able to cast a glance at him.
